We toured up to the Old State House... learned a lot about the "Boston Massacre" and propaganda... met a Hawkeye and then took a break for lunch.
For lunch we went to the #1 place on Yelp in the area Casa Razdora. Which turned out to be our favorite pizza on the trip and only 2 blocks from our hotel.
Next, we followed the Freedom Trail up to the North End.. first stop.. Modern Pastry for a yummy chocolate ganache. It was so amazing! After snacks... we went up to the North End and the Paul Revere House and the famous North Church.
After the North End, we crossed the bridge and went to Charlestown. First stop, Warren Tavern. This is where Paul Revere and George Washington used to hang out!!! OMG... one of my favorite places!!!
So we stopped for a snack... it turned out to be $1 Oysters and the biggest and amazing ones! We also had a side of smoked sausage... of course with some beers. Delightful!. After this, we headed to Bunker Hill!
We climbed the Bunker Hill Monument. It was 294 stairs up! It was a great workout. We walked back to the hotel and changed and went to dinner at The Vault. I had fish tacos! Fresh fish from Cape Cod! I love how fresh all the food has been here. Hubby got a burger, of course :).
After dinner, we went back to the hotel and watched the Olympics... it was a long day of walking... (over 6 miles) and eating. This was rest night (and women's gymnastics GOLD MEDAL!) and ready to start our new adventures the next day! :)
