Day 3 in Boston
While we were out and about on Saturday night we saw a cool coffee shop called Bean & Leaf. John got us breakfast there to start off our day and it was pretty good. Their white mocha was better than Starbucks. I know, blasphemy!Starting off our day :) Taking the T to the Museum of Fine Arts!MFA. This was simply amazing. There are so many good things in the museum, but we spent 5 hours there! This is simply unlike us. It was just too good!!! :) Con- the Egypt pics are for you! :)This was one of my faves... it was a painting of someone in the same room as the gallery looking at the paintings... just breathtaking! We had lunch in the restaurant in the museum. The most amazing flat bread I've ever had and a yummie sandwich. Perfectly paired with a glass of riesling! After the museum we took the T to Copley Square to check out the Boston Public Library and get a snack! We chose a Fodor's recommended place on Newbury Street, Joe's American Bar and Grill. I had Cape Cod Fish Tacos YUM! John had a burger. But the place was really good! AND the Red Sox 2nd basemen Pedroia had just left there after having lunch with his wife. We had a seat right near the windows.. AMAZING people watching. After we left there, we walked around some of the shops and I got my new purse! I really wanted a messenger bag for traveling and John found me the perfect one! In. Love! :)After getting my new messenger bag, we started to head to Fenway for the game. We tried to take the T; however, it was packed like sardines for three trains that passed by. We opted to walk instead. It was only a mile and took us 15 minutes. Walking in Boston is what you do. You walk and you take the T. It is such an awesome walking city!We went to the Red Sox game against Detroit. The Red Sox ended up winning! My first time at Fenway, home of the Green Monstah! We only had a hot dog, cuz of course you have to try one at a baseball game! But I had some beers and got to see 2 home runs clear the Green Monster AND three bounce off of it. So cool! The 7th inning stretch isn't anything like Wrigley; however, the 8th inning stretch they swing SWEET CAROLINE!!!!After the game, we wanted to get a late dinner and try to avoid all of the people trying to get out of the Fenway area. We ended up walking around looking for a place and saw a place named "Sweet Caroline's" so of course, being my namesake- WE HAD TO GO!This place wasn't that busy and it was amazing! We started off with some Chicken Rangoons... and they were delightful! We then shared Steak Tips with sweet potato fries and onion rings.. yum yum yum yum yum. They will be getting a good review when I sit down and write all of my reviews. After dinner and drinks, we headed back downtown to Boston. We ended with a drink at Vintage Lounge and told our normal server about our adventures today. Great day. Fun day.
